David Bruce Lee

David Lee is a registered architect in California and New York and a Founding Partner of the Californian architecture and interior design office, FAME. Prior to starting his own firm, David lived New York City for several years, working at a variety of architecture and design offices executing large single-family homes, university buildings, and towers. 

Over his career, David has entered and won numerous design and architecture competitions both as an individual and as a team member within offices with work displayed in the Museum of the City of New York and the Museum of Modern Art. He has lectured at conferences and universities on urban design theory and architecture career navigation and taught architecture, interior design, and urban design at the New School for Design in New York, Woodbury University in Los Angeles, and San Francisco Urban Program for Cal Poly.

In addition to his work and teaching, David co-hosts one of today’s top design and architecture podcasts, The Second Studio—a show which covers design, architecture, and everyday life and features interviews with building-industry leaders and guides for young designers.

David has a Bachelor of Architecture and a Minor in Sustainable Environments with honors from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Master of Urban Design from the City College of New York directed by Michael Sorkin. He studied music and architecture as part of the Ecoles d’Art Américaines de Fontainebleau in France and has performed as a trumpet player in the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles.
